Mouth of Reddish Water:
A Japanese American Story

Text by S. Neil Fujita

One of the legendary graphic designers of the twentieth century, Neil Fujita is renowned for his spectacular designs including memorable book jackets for The Godfather and In Cold Blood. Fujita, a Japanese-American, was among 120,000 interned during World War II, and yet he proudly served in the United States Army. He tells an intimate story of boyhood friends and experiences, loves, joys and disappointments. He writes with candor, sensitivity, humor-and the practiced eye for detail of a man who has spent his life in the visual arena. The book contains numerous family photos and images of Fujita's designs and paintings.
